Student Code

1. Attitude and behavior:

All students are expected to

  • partake in providing a learning environment free from disturbance and disorder for self and others
  • conform to the directives of school administration and faculty
  • promote an environment of positive and constructive language free from indecency and abuse
  • maintain a safe environment prone to minimal risk of accidents, whether deliberate or unintentional , for self and others
  • observe school administration as the sole authority responsible for conflict resolution and hence refrain from engaging in any fighting, verbal or physical
  • engage in keeping the school environment respectful and reassuring for all, free from bullying or any other form of abuse
  • respect school property and handle it responsibly, preserving all materials in use

2. Attendance

  • In case of tardiness, the administration alone may grant a late admission slip conditioned by a parent’s justification by phone call or personal attendance.
  • In case of absence
    • Grades 7 and below
      • Absence up to 2 days requires a parent’s justification by phone call or personal attendance
      • Absence for more than 2 days requires a medical report upon return
    • Grades 8 and above
      • Absence up to 2 days requires a parent’s justification by phone call or personal attendance on condition that no exam is missed. In the event of missing an exam, a medical report is required upon return.
      • Absence for more than 2 days requires a medical report upon return
      • Interruption of the school day requires a medical report upon return

Note for all grade levels: Any instructional material, homework , or exam scheduling missed during absence is the responsibility of the absentee

3. Dress Code and Grooming

All students are expected to

  • wear their school uniform at all times unless indicated otherwise by the school administration.
  • refrain from wearing makeup and jewelry to school .

4. Personal Items

  • Mobile phones are strictly prohibited on school premises.
  • The use of ipods and mp3 players is strictly prohibited in class.

5. Disciplinary measures

Failure to abide by the above code may result in the following line of disciplinary action, the degree of which to be determined by the administration based on frequency and severity:

 

  • verbal reprimand
  • written warning
  • Denial of a right or privilege
  • Detention
  • Temporary suspension from class with assigned work
  • Temporary suspension from school
  • Permanent expulsion from school
